To slice the globe down the middle, turn the two halves in opposite directions and stick them together again. Accra would then become a suburb of London, the Niger would flow into the North Sea, and it would be terribly hot in London - or else cold in Accra; it's hard to say what exactly would happen. The Western part of Great Britain would move up near the North Pole, and the English would get even cooler, and Paris would be located near the equator, and all of a sudden everything would be different ...
